Varanasi (dil India live). Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, Giriraj Singh arrived at the airport today in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Where he was welcomed with a handmade bouquet made by women trained in the program being run for the development of women by Sai Institute of Rural Development in Varanasi in collaboration with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. Institute Director Ajay Singh welcomed Minister Giriraj Singh and said that Sai Institute is working to promote, preserve and make traditional arts and crafts employable for rural women through modern technology in Varanasi in collaboration with DSIR, Government of India. The textile materials and bouquets made under this initiative are being liked a lot in big programs in metro cities like Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata including Varanasi, even the demand for a large number of Angvastras was met in the G20 organized by the Government of India. Due to which these women are getting an opportunity to become self-reliant.
On this occasion, Assistant Private Secretary to the Minister Jai Krishna, Regional Director of Handicraft Department of Textiles Ministry B.P. Thakur, Assistant Director Saroj Kumar Singh, Assistant Commissioner (Textile and Handloom) Government of Uttar Pradesh, Assistant Director Gopesh Kumar Maurya, Shamsher Singh and other local officials were present.
